Homes for Sale in Braeswood, Houston, TX

Braeswood is a mixed-use neighborhood located right next to the Old Braeswood district and Texas Medical Center campus in southwest Houston, Texas. The suburb is comprised of 17 subdivisions featuring lovely homes conveniently located next to one of the busiest commercial areas of the city. This neighborhood was founded in late 1940, but its development did not start until the late ’40s. Then in 1951, the Braeswood Place Homeowners Association was chartered. In the 1990s, residents formed the Stella Link Redevelopment Association (SLRA) to rehabilitate the neighborhood. And in the early 2000s, most homes were updated, but some original ranch-style homes still stand within the community, retaining its earlier years’ classic suburban charm.

Braeswood Place mostly comprises detached single-family homes due in part to deed restrictions placed on the neighborhood. However, there are some townhomes and single-family properties mixed in as well. The 1950s original ranch-style homes have sizes ranging between 2,000 to 3,500 square feet, which were later replaced by newer and multi-story buildings with 4,500 to 6,000 square feet of living space and lots ranging from 7,000 to over 20,000 square feet. Braeswood Place properties are priced around $275,000 up to $2,000,000 depending on the residence’s size and overall value. The homes have architectural styles of Traditional American or California ranch-style design. Houses have an average of four to six bedrooms and two to seven bathrooms. The Braeswood Place townhomes have smaller areas of 1,500 to 2,000 square feet with a price tag of $170,000 to $400,000. The diverse selection of properties in the neighborhood caters to a wide variety of buyers interested in moving into this highly desirable community.
